POOR SICK BENNIE aka San Antonio and back in one day.

My 9 year old Rat Terrier has always had allergies but they have been the worst I've ever seen them for the last 6 weeks or so. Biting, licking, scratching. All of his feet look like this.

GROSS!! This sore is somewhat better now but has not healed in 10 months!! He won't leave it alone. After repeated visits to my local vet I was referred to a dog skin specialist in San Antonio. Another really horrible spot is his stump where his back leg was amputated 8 years ago when he was a stray and got hit by a car. So, we drove there yesterday...left at 11:45 a.m. It rained the first hour on the road. I got desperately lost on HWY. 1604 despite my Mapquest directions and a city map...I finally called the doctor's office to find out where they were. Traffic horrible. The appt. took 2 hrs...Bennie wasn't too sure about that elevator...smiles. He was tested for scabies, ringworm, skin mites, infection, fungus etc. etc. We were sent home w/ lotion, shampoo, pills, swabs, ointment etc. etc. Didn't get home until 9:30 p.m...traffic horrible leaving S.A... I was so scared and praying for no deer or wild hogs to be in the road...it's DARK out there on HWY. 90. HOW MUCH IS A DOG WORTH?? I dunno but he is worth alot more now. Waiting for test results and go back in 5 weeks for a recheck. Other stuff: I always see a sign...I forgot where...just "out there" and it was spray painted for over a year with "Pray for Rain". Now the rancher/farmer has changed it to say "Thanks Heavenly Father for the beautiful rain." Then there's a sign in Hondo, TX that says "This is God's country...don't drive through it like hell"...weirdos. I saw some yellow & also some white wildflowers. Spring is here.

CROSSES FOR THE REV. KIM BURKE.

I send these to my pal Kim who preaches in Boerne, TX. I find bits of wood, inexpensive crosses, beads, buttons, toothpicks etc. etc.

I find alot of my bases (pieces of wood) at the local Bargain Box Thrift Store. It benefits Hospice and I volunteer there 3 days a week.

The 2 maroon roses were a pair of my Aunt Anna's earrings...also the sorta orange sparkly things on the left & right cross-bars. Nobody wears clip on earrings...so what was I going to do w/ them? Betcha can't guess what the spiral wire is....PAPERCLIPS!

Spread this paint by blowing thru a straw. I like beads.
Forgot to turn off my flash.

Grrrr...again w/ the flash. These colorful ones are Mexican inspired.

I sent Kim a batch of 6...now I have 5 more ready. She visits nursing homes and meets w/ children in need and gives them away. I haven't seen her in years and glad I thought of her to send them to. She might take a few to Africa this summer for her missionary work. Which is YOUR favorite?
