NOT MUCH GOIN' ON AROUND HERE.

Bennie has a new coat. He does not like it.

Bennie has a new sweater. He does not like that either.

A box I got at the thrift store and painted for Mary.

She owns a hair salon in San Marcos called "Out of the Blue".

Gourd #2 is finally done.

This gourd's name is Eunice.
My flowering kale looks good.

SNOW @ MOEHLMAN'S DEC. '12.

That's alot of snow!

This is the path next to the creek that we wandered down last June.

Malta & Michael trudge down the driveway.
Bentley likes it!

The creek. It's beautiful.

They are so lucky to have a seasonal creek.

CHRISTMAS 2012

Jamey's friend Diego sent us these flowers and a box of chocolates.

Jamey and dog pal in front of our tree. She's holding gourd #2 that needs painting.

George (who lives in Pyote and taught at the prison w/ Gene) drove in from Driftwood on his way back to Pyote. He & his trusty dog Comet spent Christmas day with us. He looks tired.

But...hey...he perked up after we fed him. Note to Dave: Dave's mix #3 is playing as shown on the TV.

They left no room for poor Willie. Merry Christmas everybody!

THANKSGIVING 2012...PART 2. FT. CLARK SPRINGS.

I've been to Ft. Clark many times but there was still parts of it I had not seen. The spring fed pool is beautiful. They empty it and clean every Thursday. It's not as lovely or large as the Balmorhea spring fed pool near Pecos.

Toby checking out the icky non-pool side.

Jamey walking between the 2 water areas.

Pool on the right....non-pool on the left.

The non-swim side.

Fall/Winter is great time to visit...nobody there...except these goofy guys. Now I notice some slides in the background...I didn't see them that day & didn't go over there...so I guess I STILL haven't seen all the pool area.

Nice reflection.

I like these trees. Quite the "hairy" palm. The pools empty into this small creek. I can just see the troops watering the animals there 100 years ago...or more.

I didn't even know there WAS an outdoor theatre.

Basic...but pretty cool.

In front of the museum. Toby declined to get in with her.

Museum. A rough ride I'm sure.

You KNOW any wagon wheel is my favorite. I feel very drawn to them.

A relic looking odd with modern stuff behind it. That's all bloggers. Thanks for reading. And thanks to Toby and Jamey for visiting!!!!!!

THANKSGIVING 2012. PART 1.

We did a whole lot of nuthin' on Thursday and Friday. Toby checks out something on TV while Bennie does a whole lot of nothing.

Toby reads the boys a bed time story. It's a hunting magazine I think.

Mr. Sweet Tooth was happy with the homemade flan and chocolate mousse. No pie! Aren't we rebels? We had turkey on Thursday and ham on Friday. There was only the 4 of us so I didn't get out the big folding table. We have no dining area here at all. We ate on TV tables. I did not take pictures of the food and did not use Gran's special china.

Jamey checkin' in at work probably.

Oh...somebody finally did something. Gene rode with her one day and I rode with her one day. Then we played some yard golf...or whatever...we just call that game "BALLS"! It was a nice Thanksgiving.

DUKE ST. BLOCK PARTY NOV.9, 2012

Why yes...we DO own the road. Settin' up on a windy Friday afternoon. We live on a dead end street. This was the 2nd year for the dinner. Our first since we weren't living here last year.

The wind died down around dusk. Robert (our neighbor to the east) getting ready. He and his wife (Sylvia) are WONDERFUL! They help us with plants & pets when we are out of town. She is a teacher and he is the computer wizard at the high school. Robert supplied the music, tiki torches, table, chairs etc. etc.

Yeah man....Ray's Bar-B-Q out by the lake can make some damn great brisket!!!! We also had sausage, beans, corn, potato salad, dips-n-chips, bread, cole slaw, cookies, cake etc. etc.

It was fun to meet our neighbors. That's our landlords Miriam (on the R. w/ the pole coming out of her head) and Fernando (in the green shirt)...they teach at the local Jr. College. They live next door to us on the west side.

I forgot what this called but isn't it pretty? It's shredded jicama & cucumber w/ pineapple on top. Then you drizzle on some tajin type sauce and add some "kibbles and bits"...which I think was dates and something crunchy.

After we got done eating lots of the folks went home and got their dogs. Well, 4 of us did...it was our 2, Robert's 2 dachshunds, another dachshund & a chihuahua. I should've gotten a neighborhood pet picture. My pictures aren't very good...but we had a very nice time!

PETS & A GOURD.

I found 2 big gourds at a junk shop in Castroville a couple of months ago. Finally painted one of them.

Harold in his basket with freakish eyes. He turned 13 on Thanksgiving.

They do not like cold weather.

Willie would have a fit if we ever get rid of this divan/couch. It fits his body perfectly, no? Gene calls it a $500. dog bed. Look at Bennie's stump......

Waitin' for Dad to come home from work.
