In front of the Visitor's Center. There's a burn ban on...so no bread baking.
Those people look like ants...we arrived late in the day and will return to do this semi-easy hike. The shallow cave in the background is how the "caves" there all look.
George camped out in Seminole for 2 nights with his dog, Comet. It was cold. As you can imagine the summer temps are BRUTAL...stay away. Excellent star gazing and magnificent sunsets.
A railroad gang bake oven from 1881-1883 construction camps...looks like a tomb to me.
George was really hungry after 2 long hikes that day and was thrilled w/ the Rudy's Bar-B-Q that we brought. He didn't know about the burn ban so had been eating cold chili and tamales.
An excellently constructed and rather fuzzy bird nest in an Ocatillo tree.
THIS IS A GUIDED TOUR OF THE PICTOGRAPHS IN ONE OF THE CAVES. THEY ARE VERY RARE IN THAT THE PAINTINGS ARE VERY LARGE & WELL PRESERVED. PEOPLE GET EXTRA EXCITED ABOUT VIEWING THEM AND FOR MANY, IT'S THE REASON FOR THEIR VISIT TO SEMINOLE. THEY DON'T INTEREST ME. NOTE THE RUBBER MATS ON THE GROUND. THESE PICTOGRAPHS ARE 4,000 YEARS OLD.
