CHRISTMAS 2014

Jamey in New York City ready for a Christmas party.
Cherry is ready for Santa Claus.

It's hard to see...but this is our Christmas tree.

This is my new art that I got at a thrift shop. She needs a name.

Jamey gave Gene this lighted peace sign. It was the #1 gift this year. We all love it.

Every year for at least the last 30 years we have played this Elvis Christmas album on Dec. 25th.

The peace light looks great. I should've turned off the light inside. Say "Hi" to little Willie.

Jamey got this t-shirt and new boots from Diego...he mailed her gift to Kay & Jim's. We drove there on the 26th.

This is the cat from A Pet's Wish that had the arrow in it's head/face last summer. Jim & Kay have adopted Bolt!! We transported him to their house. He is SUCH a sweet cat! He's happy to have everyone and anyone give him scratching and petting. He'll fit into their animal family just fine. His new name is SQUEEZEBOX since we went and saw a Zydeco band the next night. THANKS TO KAY & JIM!!!!

This photo is for my brother Dave. Kay's new dresser is made of recycled airplane "skin". Very cool!

I sure like Leif's accordions. Check out Zydeco Blanco at www.zydecoblanco.com/

At the Redbud Cafe on the square in Blanco, TX. Leif & Emily.

We went and saw this band last year on the same day and same place. We hope to make it an annual visit. I could live in Blanco...population- 1,780 folks.

We were smilin' that the guitar player on the right looks like he just climbed off his tractor...but man...he can PLAY!

L to R-Jamey, Kay, Bruce, Jim, Janet, Mike and Gene. They came from Austin, San Antonio and Kyle. Thanks ya'll for making the scene and Happy New Year!!

COZUMEL PICTURE JUMBLE #3.

I arrived on Nov. which is Dias de los Muertos...Day of the Dead. This is the altar at Alicia's B&B. They display pictures of loved ones who have passed on...flowers...candles and sometimes food.

Apache...the B&B's dog. I like her alot.

Arody ready to go trick or treating. So, she had TWO trick or treat nights. One on Oct. 31 & one on Nov. 2nd. I was amused that when it gets below 85 degrees everybody is cold. I teased Alicia alot.

Se Vende...for sale. I'll buy it. Isn't that Jamey's car out front? Not.

You sit on the blue cushion, stick your feet in the water and the little fish nibble all the dead skin off your feet. I'll pass.

Norwegian & Disney cruise ships in port. There are 3 cruise piers on Cozumel. It's overkill...we dislike it. But we know where to go to avoid cruisers.

Hi Mickey!

This is one of the people ferries that goes over to Playa Del Carmen on the mainland...A/C and everything. Takes about 45 minutes.

Snorkeling is good at Hotel Cozumel...but the entry is rather difficult...at least for me...especially if the water is not calm. You can always just jump of the end of the small pier...but getting out is sometimes hard.

Hotel Cozumel. We have stayed there twice in past years. I went there and got a day pass for $30. which included food & drinks. This is the biggest pool on the island and they put the dolphins in there when there's a hurricane coming...makes me so sad. Just let them go and be free. I HATE SWIM THE DOLPHIN PROGRAMS!!

Lobby of Hotel Cozumel. This place is within walking distance to town which is nice. It's a sorta basic diver's hotel.

A very tall Norfolk Island Pine tree at HC.I guess that's enough...I was so happy to be able to visit the island and see Alicia. It's fun traveling solo and I had not been to Cozumel during a cooler month in many years.

COZUMEL PICTURE JUMBLE #2.

Money Bar Beach Club. A pretty good shore snorkeling spot. Note the man made "beach". Most places have this. They make a wall and add sand.

Snorkelers at MB.

The sun on the water looks like diamonds. A rocky beach area means good snorkeling.

I splurged at Money Bar and got this wonderful Coconut Shrimp platter. The margaritas were good too. Service excellent.

Orlando & Alicia at his store on the east side. He lives at the B&B. Chuco is his uncle. We love him...even if he did eat all my flan...haha.

Charles Lindbergh & his plane during a stop off in Cozumel. This is at the museum.

Model ships at the museum.

The pirate ship that takes folks out on dinner cruises. I've heard the food is good and it's a bawdy, hilarious time. It's pricey so I've never been.

A Mayan hut at the museum.

Mayan thingie at the museum.

Ceiling flags at the museum above their Dia de los Muertos (day of the dead) altar.

WOW! Look at that! Now THAT'S a fancy Day of the Dead altar!

Every year I take a picture of the Mexican flag on Melgar St....which is the main drag that runs along the ocean. The wind was co-operating. Note the eagles at the base. People ferry port in the background.

COZUMEL PICTURE JUMBLE #1.

A old photo of Cozumel...it was in the museum. I'm guessing in the 1950's.

A painting of a Mayan lady and child. I like the cat & dog.

They have original, local art displayed at the museum. I fell in love with this guy's paintings. Bob Marley. $75.

Elvis. $67.

Carlos Santana.

The Cozumel Museum is small but very interesting. I ate at the 2nd story restaurant there. The view is excellent.

At Money Bar Beach Club. I like this pelican picture alot.

Me and Arody doing a puzzle. She lives at Alicia's B&B. She is sweet. She is 6 years old and speaks no English...but is learning.

Alicia's. I've stayed in all 4 of the rooms there over the years. No pool and not near the beach...but for $35. per night it's the perfect place to experience a local neighborhood.

Welcome to my room. Plenty of drinking water and nice outdoor seating.

It's nice to have a fridge in the rooms.

On the unpopulated east side of the island. This boat must be left there from a hurricane.

The east side. There are miles of sandy beach to walk. Cozumel is mostly rock...especially on the west side.

The undertow on the east side is dangerous.

Chuco at Alicia's making my breakfast. Every morning there is guacamole & fresh fruit. Then he makes either omelettes, nachos, waffles, quesadillas or papas w/ sauce.

Chuco also makes me a "special something" every morning...but it's a secret. If I told....everybody would want it.
