The decor was pretty damn fabulous!

This rubber kitty would jump out at you...it was hilarious.

A robotic 'ghost' chasing squealing children.

This cutie was happy with her candy.

Katrina....fearless leader of A Pet's Wish.

John....#2 fearless leader of APW. His service dog Sawyer is drinking pink lemonade...um....o.k.

SWELLABRATION #4...BUILDINGS.

Rainbow Row.
We were charmed by all the old, old buildings. Many of them are reportedly from the Revolutionary War period. I wondered how much of them are original.

Charleston was shelled during the Civil War....but not burned.  In 1887 there was horrific earthquake.

We walked alot and loved the cobblestone, tiny walkways with tons of plants and lovely courtyards with babbling fountains.

After visiting Charleston....I don't care a thing about New Orleans anymore...smiles. I could live here.

This is across from the museum. Cars and power lines ruin my photos.

We like the many weather vanes. There was one with a dolphin on the waterfront.

Lots & lots & lots of churches....almost all of them have really high, spindle-y spires.

Our last meal in town was here...lunch at Husk. ALL the meals we ate were super except for one.

CHARLESTON BIRTHDAY SWELLABRATION #3.

So funny...I was searching the web for pictures of the hotel and found these guys singing/playing at the grand re-opening of the Vendue....and it's the band we saw on our last night in town!!! They were SO good! Played everything we liked!
Hellloooooo...check in desk.

Who doesn't love a few pigs?
This is on the old, un-remodeled side of the hotel. My flash was off...so it's a little dark.

I want to own this painting. That green guy out in front of the pack is angry and focused.

An art installation of view masters right by the coffee shop at Vendue Inn. You couldn't advance the pictures but it was SO much fun!!!

When was the last time YOU looked thru a view master??? I want this in our house.

A donkey or horse outside the coffee shop. What is he/she covered with???

THAT is what he/she is covered with!!! Don't you love it?

Jamey relaxing in our hotel room under a painting of the Brooklyn Bridge....how fitting.

Yup...piano parts...and a ceiling fan?

Lovely painting.

This was my very favorite painting in the whole hotel...but I know I didn't see them ALL. The hotel boasts an 'in house' artist and offers art tours twice a day.

This is not at the hotel. It's a mural on the side of a building. Me likey.

CHARLESTON BIRTHDAY SWELLABRATION #2

Darlin' Kay.

We're SWELL!

Cheers!

Best Friends! And Blue!

Hi there!

Up on the roof....last day.

I like blue stuff...and wine cork necklaces.
GIRLS & MUSEUM.
Jamey & Kay bein' BLUE at a very special brunch at this fantastic place called Magnolia's. It was our best meal....out of many.....

C.J. & I at brunch.

Being silly. Whose hand belongs to what girl? Uh-oh....we're missing somebody....it's Jamey.

OMG! We had just left this darling french bistro where we had excellent food and drinks and right next door was this candy store. They were handing out fresh, still warm, free samples of pralines. Guess who bought some? WE ALL DID! I took mine home to Geno.

We went to the Charleston Museum. They had a little bit of everything. Enjoyed it VERY much. I was impressed.

C.J. checks out a buggy.

A museum display that I took to show Gene. The face mask and glove are pretty hilarious.

I want that. I bet it's very heavy.

A display of eggs. An egg shape is just about my favorite....or maybe a triangle.
This is the free downtown trolley. We took it to the museum. But mostly we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The trolly runs until 9 p.m. and we had a map of the route...cool.

I think it's from a bank...not sure...forgot.
